If you think the pool only suits summer, it's time to change that idea. Thanks to solar pool heating, you can guarantee happy moments day or night, winter or summer.
Want to know how solar pool heating works? Then check out the explanation that Sodramar has prepared for you.
Solar pool heating: how does it work?
Sustainable, solar pool heating uses a renewable natural resource to heat water evenly: sunlight. For this, the system has collector plates, which can be installed on the ceiling of your residence or in any other place with high solar incidence.
The operation of the system is very simple. With the aid of a motor pump, the pool water is sucked in by the heated collectors. From there, the water comes into contact with the hot plates, which raises their temperature. Afterwards, it is returned to the already heated pool.
Of course, this operation is part of a cycle, which, depending on the size of the pool, can take a few hours. However, don't worry, as the solar pool heating system leaves the water at the ideal temperature without spending electricity.
Sizing correctly
In addition to energy efficiency, another point to consider is that you can choose to leave the water at the proper temperature. In other words, this means that you can heat the water more or less, thus needing more or less collector plates.
To facilitate this calculation, just follow Sodramar's tips:
- To increase the water temperature by 8º C: install the equivalent of 80% of the pool area in solar panels;
- To increase the water temperature by 10º C: install the equivalent of 100% of the pool area in solar panels;
- To increase the water temperature by 12º C: install the equivalent of 120% of the pool area in solar panels.
The best solar collectors on the market
Sodramar has three solar collector models:
- CSI-2: 2 m long and 33 cm wide (0,66 m2);
- CSI-3: 3 m long and 33 cm wide (1 m2);
- CSI-4: 4 m long and 33 cm wide (1,32 m2).
Depending on the size of your pool and how much you want to heat the water, investing in larger plates can represent good savings. That's because, in some cases, you'll need a smaller amount of boards to cover a certain area.
